5 x 7 Vintage Persian Lori Rug 78857

78857 Vintage Persian Lori Rug, 04’10 x 07’03.

This hand-knotted wool vintage Persian Lori rug is a masterclass in traditional design and cultural symbolism. The rug features three prominent medallions, each set against a vibrant red and navy blue backdrop. The lozenge medallions are framed by intricate stepped bands in contrasting colors. These stepped diamond medallions, with their dynamic shapes and vibrant hues, are a focal point of the rug, drawing the eye and creating a sense of movement and depth.

Surrounding the medallions is a series of geometric borders, each meticulously crafted to offer protection against malevolent spirits. The use of stepped bands and geometric patterns throughout the design adds a layer of complexity, showcasing the weaver’s skill and attention to detail. The border, with its combination of sawtooth and diamond patterns, frames the central design beautifully, providing a sense of order and balance.
