6 x 7 - Blue Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug - 53078

53078 Vintage Turkish Oushak Rug, 05'06 x 07'03.

Antique-washed Turkish Oushak rugs are a distinct variation of traditional rugs originating from the Oushak region in western Turkey. These rugs undergo a specialized washing process. During this process, the colors are softened, and the rug is imbued with a weathered charm reminiscent of aged pieces. The objective of antique-washing is to mimic the natural fading and patina that develops over time on authentic antique rugs, thereby infusing the Oushak rug with a sense of history and character. Typically, antique-washed Oushak rugs showcase muted, earthy tones and subtle color variations, enhancing their vintage allure. They blend the enduring craftsmanship of traditional Turkish rug-making with the nostalgic appeal of antique aesthetics, making them highly sought-after for both classic and contemporary interior settings.
