9 x 12 - Purple Moroccan Rug - 21100

21100 Colorful Abstract Beni Mrirt Moroccan Rug, 09’03 x 11’07.

Nomadic charm marries Abstract Expressionist style in this hand knotted wool Beni Mrirt Moroccan rug. The visual complexity and intense colors woven into this piece work together creating a bold, expressive design. An allover pattern composed of color block fragments and unusual geometric shapes cover the blue backdrop. Hand-carved lines crisscross in an organic manner cultivating a strong sense of dimensionality. The organized system of its chaotic order has been transformed into an artistic composition. Emanating a striking visual appeal with a hard edge painting style, this authetic Berber Moroccan rug draws inspiration from Paul Klee, Gunta Stolzl, and Hans Hofmann. A joy to walk upon, the pile is soft and plush with lavish texture while simultaneously introducing the modern trend for high-end design.
